According to the case, the treatment may be carried out with the semen of the partner or a donor.

The process of conjugal artificial insemination

The artificial insemination process will take place in the following days after  ovulation induction . In this case of Conjugal artificial insemination, your partner will get a semen sample that we will  process in the laboratory in order to select the most useful spermatozoa and eliminate the remaining part of the semen.

The artificial insemination treatment will be performed directly in the clinic. To give you an idea, the procedure is very similar to when you perform a routine pap smear  only that in this case, we insert a thin tube of soft plastic through the cervix  to deposit into the uterus the small volume of liquid that contains the sperm previously selected from your partner´s  semen sample.

It is quick and completely painless, requires no hospitalization or anesthesia. On the same day you can go home and have a normal life, although we do recommend you to take it easy and avoid doing physically demanding tasks.

What happens if there is no pregnancy after artificial insemination.

With regard to conjugal artificial insemination, getting pregnant in the most natural way possible is  the primary objective,  but you must keep in mind that nobody can guarantee a 100% chance of success. First of all, you need to relax and be patient.

If after the first attempt there is no pregnancy, you can get a second cycle after a period of about two months. The maximum that we recommend is three cycles with intervals of two months in order to allow ovarian  recovery between one treatment and the next.

In the case of using up these three cycles without pregnancy, it will be time to evaluate other treatments, such as in vitro fertilization. In any case, we will always guide you  in each moment and prepare you both physically and emotionally at every step because we are involved from the beginning to end at each stage of this exciting journey that you’ve decided to take to be a mother.
